Auctions & Appraisals

Art Auctions

Bert Gallery Studio Sales presents curated American art auctions from Providence, Rhode Island, featuring significant historic artists from Rhode Island and New England.

Drawing on over four decades of scholarship and exhibitions, we offer thoughtfully researched works to a wider audience through online sales. Each auction is carefully curated and catalogued by gallery owner Catherine Little Bert, often highlighting artists not widely seen on the broader auction market.

Auctions are conducted on the Live Auctioneers platform. For information on upcoming auctions, please contact us.

Appraisal & Valuation Services

Types of Valuations

  • Opinions of Value for clients seeking information & worth of their artworks

  • Formal appraisals for Retail Replacement Value for Insurance Purposes

  • Fair Market Value for IRS required Estate Appraisals and Charitable Donations

Fees

The cost of an appraisal or opinion of value is determined on an hourly basis. Time requirements vary depending on several factors, including the number of works evaluated, the number of artists represented and the type of appraisal service requested.

Fair Market Value appraisals prepared for IRS purposes—such as estate or charitable donation appraisals—are the most time-intensive due to the level of research and documentation required for each individual work.
